DRIVER SIMULATOR TRAINING
Last Revision: July 22, 2010

CRCOPA offers a Driver Training Program that is conducted in Newington that is free of charge to members of CRCOPA.  The four hour block of training is conducted on driving simulators and results in 4 credit hours under Area 309, Practical Skills.  Credit qualifies for POSTC review training credit.  Instructors include officers from various Capital Region area police departments.

This program assists in keeping road officers alert while responding to an emergency call or even everyday operation.  It shows proper lane positioning, highlights intersection clearing, lane by lane, to avoid collisions in blind spots often overlooked.  It is hands on through use of simulators, which stays in the brain, instead of book learning.

Call Tammy Lynn LaBonte 860-525-9975, for more information on how to reserve the driving simulator/request an instructor for your individual departments.  A minimum of three participating officers is required in order to reserve the simulator and/or book an instructor.  For those departments providing their own instructor, there is no minimum requirement, however you must reserve the simulator through SCJTN.
