The Mission of the
Youth at Promise Alliance
(YAPA) is to create better relationships between law enforcement and
youth through training, referral and collaboration with local, state
and national organizations that provide services and prevention and
intervention programs to youth. YAPA believes it is
the
responsibility of adults in authority positions to be the best role
models for young people and to assist in creating and/or providing
positive connections for them. YAPA believes that all
children
need love, support and positive adult role models as well as positive
relationships with adults if they are to grow into responsible adults
who are law abiding citizens in our communities. YAPA wants
to
bring the message to everyone that all youth is at promise, and by
working together we can help them reach their greatest potential
